Why have your cavity walls insulated ?

Upto 35% of your homes heat loss is throught your walls, a simple way to reduce this loss is to have your walls insulated. If your walls have a clear cavity of at least 40mm and no damp or condensation problems, they maybe suitable for cavity insulation.
Cavity insulation is effective for at least 40 years.


Will I get help towards the cost ?

The current funding scheme is called ECO 3, the scheme started at the end of 2018 and should run until 2022. The scheme is designed to help homeowners / tenants access funding towards the cost of making thier homes more energy efficient. W Hughes & Son Ltd are fully accredited to install cavity wall insulation throught the ECO scheme and all our domestic installs come with a 25 year CIGA Guarantee. One of our surveyors would need to carry out an inspection of your property to check suitability.







What product do we use

At W Hughes & Son we only Install Energy Store Ltd bonded bead due to its superior performance. Energystore have over 40 years experience in the manufacture of EPS bonded bead cavity wall insulation. Since establishing the first EPS bonded bead manufacturing facility in Ireland, Energystore have expanded and currently own four production plants in the UK and Ireland, based in: Glasgow, Lisburn, Preston and Tipperary.

Has the product been approved

Energy Store bonded bead has been approved and is monitored by KIWA. They test whether in a laboratory or on-site, to independently determine characteristics and thus approve requirements in terms of safety, quality, performance, reliability and compliance with rules and regulations.







Cavity Wall Funding criteria

· Domestic properties only
· Not previously insulated
· Property is suitable for cavity wall insulation
· Private rented properties must have an EPC rating of A - E


The current ECO scheme is only available for people in receipt of certain benefits or you meet the requirements under your Local Authority Flexible Eligibility statement of intent.
